Meet the Advisory Board

Dr Angelo Ercia (he/him), Chair

Angelo is an experienced public health practitioner and applied researcher with over 10 years of experience working in the U.S. and U.K. academic, non-profit/charity and healthcare settings. He has experience with program design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of interventions in digital health innovations, alcohol, tobacco and other drugs; chronic and infectious diseases, HIV/AIDs case management, mental health and youth development. As a public health and health researcher, Angelo has extensive experience conducting mixed-methods and qualitative approaches using innovative strategies that include co-design (participatory research) to increase engagement of different stakeholders.

Angelo is interested to work on projects particularly on topics of improving healthcare delivery through the use of digital health interventions, strengthening health systems, evaluating health policy and developing/ evaluating interventions in public health. He is approachable, collaborative and always willing to use his knowledge and skills to develop evidence based solutions particularly to address health inequalities, disparities and social justice. 

Jodi Rose (she/her), Board Secretary

With a background in criminology, with a focus on mental health, cybercrime, gender, class, and race, Jodi is committed to bringing about positive changes and making spaces more diverse and inclusive.


She is dedicated, in particular, to creating spaces for self-acceptance and community engagement. Through her work, she seeks to empower and educate as well as provide much needed escapism.

Nash Sithole (he/him)

Having performed all over the United Kingdom in places like London, Leeds, Manchester, and Glasgow, Nash has worked with and performed for the likes of 56 Dean Street, The Terence Higgins Trust, the National Aids Trust, Boys Magazine and Attitude Magazine. He has also been a regular at Spoken Word London and Let's Talk About Gay Sex and Drugs. While in Manchester, along with the LGBT Foundation, he exported Let's talk about Gay Sex and Drugs night to the city, before moving back to London to create the open mic nights Let’s Talk Queer POC and They Said It.



Nash is a poet writing under the moniker Black Ops Poetry was born out of the self-doubt of a young black gay male and created out of his need to express himself in a world where black, gay and other minorities are made to feel like they should be happy with the status quo. So with his pen and paper he puts the world to rights with his witty and often dark poetry about self-doubt, discrimination and coming of age.

Makinder Chahal (he/him)

Makinder has been working in the voluntary community sector field for over 9 years, primarily within LGB&T equality, HIV prevention and sexual health promotion. He is passionate about social change and equality, contributing to this through activism and campaigning. He is also interested in intersectional identities and the impact on activism and campaign messages and promotion.
